Suggestions for good trash bags for recycling?

While the grocery store bags work fine for recycling, I would like some bags normal kitchen trash can sized bags. Any suggestions?

Don’t use a trash bag at all. Wash out the garbage can everyday after you throw out trash.

We rinse (if needed) cans, glass bottles and plastic containers with leftover dishwater or scrub water. Then we set them out in the garage in a big cardboard box. When the box is full, we fill a blue plastic recycle bag that we bought in a box of 8 or 10 at most local grocery or chain stores. We have to take ours to the landfill and they set the recycle stuff to one side of the household garbage.

for my paper recycling, we usually just use a brown paper bag, that way we just throw the entire bag into our green bin and dont have to worry about it.
for bottle, cans, and glass, i just keep them in a plastic garbage bag, then empty it into the blue bin to get picked up and reuse the bag.
they also sell biodegradable trash bags: http://www.biobagusa.com/

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER bag recyclables. Ever.

This is a huge complaint for recycling companies. The bags clog up machinery, and the whole line gets stopped. You shouldn’t put shredded paper, styrofoam, and ribbons for the same reason. Plastic bottle caps aren’t recyclable, so don’t put those in either.

If you can, get a bin for recyclables. Make sure the things you put in are dry. Then, transfer to your recycle bin(s). if you use single-stream recycling (one bin for all) you should have no problem doing this.
