like other’s who have ordered this it came in a retail box so it was damaged. Amazon promptly replaced it. Lose the custom bags. Price is too expensive. One peeve the bag is not hidden which kind of ruins the sleek look

My daughter thinks I’m nuts to be so enamored by a trash can, but, too bad. I received this as a gift (yes) and cannot believe how beautiful and easy to operate this trash bin is. It’s true that fingerprints don’t mess up the shine of this can, and it’s also true that it’s a cinch to operate. Just touch the lovely black lid and it pops open, keeping all around it clean and unmessed. If my hands are dirty, I touch it with my elbow or exercise and lift my leg to touch it with a foot. It gently flips open, revealing not a genie, but a load of disposables already collected from previous touches to the lid. No smells escape when the lid opens because it’s a quick operation to open, fill, then close. Eliminating the filled bag is also a cinch and cleanup is a non-issue. If you can afford this beautiful can, then I say, “Go for it!” I doubt that you’ll be disappointed in it’s form and function.

A very nice trash can that opens easily and holds a lot of trash. We picked this stylish can after having noticed one at a friends and having looked at smaller models in a local DIY store.
Our previous trash can (not a Barbantia) was a foot model that broke after about a year. This is a very good looking trash bin, the brushed stainless finish resists fingerprints and should last a very long time. The lid opens easily and it large enough to insert large paper plates.
We were looking for a good looking and durable trash can that will last a long time. I have a friend who has a Barbantia and has had it for at least 5 years and it has operated w/o a problem and still looks like a new can. The only reason I don’t give it a full 5 stars is that it is expensive but if it lasts more than 5 years it will be worth it.

Great looking can, and it really is fingerprint proof. I like the simplicity of the lid, foot pedal cans always seem to be one step away from breaking. Pricey to be sure, but it has the look I wanted and should last.

This is my second Brabantia Touch trash can. My first was exactly the same except the non-brushed finish. We liked the first so well that when it was broken we brought a second. The lid after a lot of use (many years) finally died and so I bought another. The unit is good looking, sturdy and the touch lid opens with a smooth soft operation. Slowly rising after you have touched it. Looks good and works well only negative is that it is a little expensive. The standard 30 gallon tall white trash bags fit it well and the lit will hold the bag in place without it showing. Ours sits out in our kitchen and looks totally in place. One warning Amazon shipped the trash can only in its original packaging which was a big mistake. The cardboard outer box is not very sturdy and my first unit that was shipped had a dinged top from something heavy hitting on the top of it. The second unit they shipped was even more badly damaged the bottom tube was crushed on its side more than likely by a heavy item sitting on it. Luckly for me UPS had not picked up the first unit so I then had a undamaged top and an undamaged bottom which I combined and Amazon got a completely damaged unit back. Shipping therefore could be a problem as it was for me.
